Arthur Lavigne Junior graduated from the Faculdade Nacional de Direito, of the most traditional law colleges of Brazil. During the military dictatorship he acted in the defense of several political prisoners. As a Federal Councilor of the Brazilian bar association, he created its Human Rights Committees, implemented within the scope of the Federal Council – of which he was also Secretary-General – and its regional offices. In 1980, Arthur Lavigne established his law firm in the city of Rio de Janeiro, through which he has been providing legal assistance of recognized technical quality to its clients.
